


In a lot of setups, teams will bring 2 Mage because of their strengths. They are truly a force to be reckoned with in Group Battlegrounds. They can Blink out of any stun, Frost Nova nearby enemies, and when they are finally pressured, the Mage can just pop Ice Block and wait for heals. Not only that, but Mages are incredibly hard to control and lockdown. Or when they are defending the flag, they can continuously cast a low rank of Blizzard, to apply slow on any incoming targets. Mages are particularly nasty in Warsong Gulch, where they can spam Polymorph in the center of the map, during mass engagements. Or if a Mage just wants to play a fun, silly Build, they can go Presence of Mind/ Pyroblast, also known as the "3 minute Mage", where they can nearly one-shot some players, with the right Gear.

With two primary Builds, Improved Counterspell/Deep Frost and "Elemental", which is a mix of Fire and Frost, both of which are extremely viable, depending on the preference of the player. Mages are without a doubt the most viable Class for Group Battlegrounds. Shadow Priest, Feral Druid, Balance Druid, Enhancement Shaman, Fury Warrior, Ret Paladin, Prot Warrior, Prot Paladin Sorted by Class and Build, Classes were judged on the following criteria: Pre-made Battleground viability, impact in Warsong Gulch and Arathi Basin, and how much "fun" they are to PvP with. Many times Classes are chosen for a specific requirement, because of a Debuff, Crowd Control, or something else entirely.
